Mr. Philip has made learning maths a lot easier to understand and he has given me essential strategies for different ways of solving maths questions. Fortunately, this has improved my maths homework immensely throughout the weeks and has had an empowering effect on my grades so far this year. He has taught me in a way that can be explored, expressed and explained within various methods and advantages in maths. His teaching has changed my mindset in the way I feel about maths and how it can be understood and broken down into parts that can be explained easily in a comprehensive way. UPwards Tuition aided me a great deal during my time in Year 11. When l first arrived in year 11, I was uncertain whether l would be able to pass my Maths GSCE. The switch from Set 1 maths to Set 2 was an immediate wake up call for my family and I.

Mr. Philip, my maths tutor was highly understanding and he helped me recognise the areas which l was weak in and taught me methods that would allow me to improve. Looking back, I still remember him telling me to take five minutes every day to read over my notes that I had written. He also gave me lots of exam practice questions which l had to complete. He helped me by showing me how to gain more marks. After completing my GSCE’s, I acquired a Grade 6, which is much higher than what my teachers predicted and higher than the pass grade of 5.

I was also predicted a grade 3 for English but around 2 weeks before my real exam I had two sessions for English, these sessions allowed me to feel more confident within myself. I achieved a Grade 6 in English Language and a Grade 7 in English Literature.

Similarly, I also attended the Science lessons on Saturday, these allowed to develop on prior knowledge and methods taught in school. As well as this I struggled with focusing on all my chosen subjects plus Physics, Chemistry and Biology but at UPwards Tuition, I was taught time management skills as well. This is a great skill that l still use for my A Levels.

I would highly recommend UPwards Tuition, the services offered are truly amazing.

I enjoy learning new topics in maths with Mr. Philip. My favourite topic in maths is algebra because in the future I want to become an astronaut and a scientist and in order to master my goals I would be needing algebra and formulae, fortunately, Mr. Philip has taught me to understand these topics so far this year. Having been taught by sir, my favourite method is the flowchart to formulate and solve equations. My exams have improved immensely in maths from having an average score of 63% to a whopping score of 92% in my Ks2 maths paper 2 reasoning under timed conditions. I really recommend Mr. Philip to become your tutor because he has really helped me to improve, progress and succeed.
